Alright, let's get this mining complex finished. Time to whip up some blueprints.

Next big project is gonna start here. I've got a big ol' clump of resources I need to harves from this area.

Played more with my son today. He managed to complete Phase 1!

My son wanted to play with me today, so that's what I did.

We're finally there. The last last last thing to do, for this project. Like, actually. Just 3 unfinished miners, and that's it.

The last thing to finish out this whole project is the resource trunks coming into the two satellite factories. Crude Oil, on this one in particular.

Oil Processing facility is next. Same treatment, starting with painting...

Moving on, we have the copper processing facility, that feeds Circuitworks.

Yeah, it's been 3 months, but I can explain: Blue Prince came out. And then Nightreign.

For the first time I created turbo fuel towers instead of one big row of fuel generators. I have two of these towers consuming a little less than 600 m3 turbo fuel combined to have some overhead.

This is part of my ACU factory. Slopes can give the illusion that I know what I'm doing.

Next floor is done.... except that I JUST realized upon looking at this picture that I forgot to paint the floor.

Well, this took like 4 hours to get right. Rather happy with it, thought.

Slapping a new floor down on top of the last one, we've got just a few more floors to build out.

Built the setup today for Tempered Caterium Ingot production.

Alllllllllllrighty. So I played around for a little while, and came up with this as a support for the resource trunk line, running down the center of the building.

Alright, so the realization I had right at the end of yesterday was that I've forgotten a pair of Refineries. Decided to plop them in next to these 4 in the center, and shifted the entire chunk over to the left, to help some of the piping line up.

K. Time to branch off to the other side of this T-junction, for the next building.

Alriiiiiiiiight. So, after building a full logistics map for the upcoming factory, I've decided this is where I need to fork off a new branch of tubeway, to head off into the distance.

Starting out today, this factory needs an upgrade. This is Steelworks, and when I was building out all the tubeways yesterday, I actually ran out of Steel Beam for the first time.

A'ight, today's task is to lay out some new Radio Towers, to prep for exploring, and the next factory I'll be building. I have exactly 0 Mercer Spheres left after the last factory, so I at least need to stock up on those.

No, I haven't given up yet, I just had less free time this week than usual, and I was honestly frustrated that it took THREE more sittings to fully finish this out.

Picking up from last time, I got Crude Oil laid in for real this time, to produce Heavy Oil Residue and Polymer Resin.

Task for today is to get all the resources run in to the factory.

First item for today was to finish the new sections of tubeway. I.E. tear down the blueprint scaffolding, and place support framing.

So, the factory I'm going to build next, I've actually had planned out since, like, Christmas. I just need to figure out how to build it. I laid out these sections of machines to try and estimate what kind of space I'm going to need for this building. I've got a good idea of the layout I want now, and a rough idea of where I'm going to put it.

I started today with rebuilding the spiral staircase. I also added interior lighting on all the machinery floors, which I neglected to get pics for.

I started today with the realization that I forgot an entire chunk of the build (as I often tend to): the uploading and sinking wing, which I was planning to do as an extension onto the front. That's gonna throw off the entire placement of the spiral staircase, so I simply tore it down entirely.

After a little bit of scouting, I decided on roundabout here for the next build. What with the SAM underneath the archway, and the unused Iron Ore right nearby.

First item for today was to finish this building by adding stilts. Had to be unorthodox here, compared to the last two buildings, because the space to PUT these stilts was so limited by the miners. Happy with the result, though.

The idea struck me that the stilts don't have to attach to the top of the building, just near it. I'm quite happy with how it came out.

I've AAAAAAALLLMOST got this building finish. The only thing I didn't get to is the stilts on the back side.

Okay. I can't put it off anymore. I have to figure out how to detail these buildings. Let's start with this small one, and see what we come up with.

I actually spent most of today's time playing in my son's game.

Alright, time to get the rest of this factory connected up.

So, I STILL haven't come up with any real ideas for how to decorate or get around on the big stairstep buildings, so I'm putting it off some more. What worked out well for the other two, and for the miners, was just running a main beltway alongside them, instead of directly connecting them, so I decided to keep going with that idea, and redo the little bit of beltwork I'd already done on the other side of the facility.

Built out a little bit of a "hub" room today, where the main power switch for the campus can sit, and where we can do some of the inter-building belt routing.

Man, I am really hitting a creative wall with this factory. I am at a loss for ideas on what to do next here. I tried laying out this sorta terrain-hugging foundation to try and build on, but turns out, I hate it.

A little more progress on the next building, today. I decided, what the hell, let's just stick with the stairstep design. See what I can make of it. I really have no idea how I'm going to turn this into a proper building, yet, but ideally, that'll be part of the fun.

Long hanging fruit for today is the final building of Frameworks, to make Heavy Modular Frames. Literally everything is already done for this, except I didn't have Manufacturers, at the time.

Done. Completely. The largest and most-complicated build I've ever done. A full 2-week project. All running at 100% efficiency.

Alrighty, time to actually run out some Turbofuel.

After maybe an hour of setting up blueprints for the inter-building walkways that I prototyped last time, I decided to actually start today by finalizing the Geothermal Generator here, and getting it fully connected to the main grid.

Next up is connecting the factory to the primary tubeway. Got a path laid out from the factory entrance up to the closest branch of the tubeway, easily enough.

Starting out today, I wanted to lay out the rim of the ceiling, before laying out machinery that might get in the way, since all the 45-degree corners have to be built my hand.

Back in coop today. Got another big chunk of road built out, toward Cateriumworks.

Not much to show off today. Just made a little more progress on this factory. I've decided, for now, that I'm gonna try this sheltered-but-open-air kinda design. Basically, just no walls. We'll see if it's viable for the other big segments of the factory.

Spent most of the evening building out this little Geothermal and Sulfur outpost. I'll be using the Pure Sulfur node here in the next build, and I'll very likely be wanting the others in the near future.

Oilworks is up and running today. All that's left is cosmetics.

Back from out-of-town today, and back to working on the FICSMAS factory.

First task for today was actually re-working the Liquid Biofuel setup from yesterday, a little bit. Specifically, I realized I needed to do buffering for the inputs to that little subsystem, and I needed to not be sinking the excess. I found it was sinking away the vast majority of the spoils from yesterday's exploration.

That's Phase 2 completed.

Starting up Automated Wiring today.

FICSMAS Factory is complete! ETA on 500 Stars for the final research is just under 12 hours.

Finally have almost all the blueprints for the road worked out. Made a bunch more progress on the road, with them. Although, I encountered a few mistakes that I had to quickly run back and correct.

More progress on the Copperworks factory, today. My wife finalized the exteriors on all three buildings, and got all the lighting finished on the right-hand building.

So, today, I'm faced with a dilemma. I am somehow an entire building short in my planned layout here. In the middle-right, we have the first stop, the smeltery, making nothing but Iron Ingots. Middle-left is where all the Iron Ingots go, to be crafted into various products. The little guy on the left is Concrete, and on the right is the final product: Modular Frames. Also, the open spot in front here will be the final building, once Manufacturers are unlocked, making Heavy Modular Frames, uploading to the Dimensional Depot, and sinking all the excess.

Back in singleplayer, I was planning to setup the miners for Frameworks, last time. In order to setup belting for that, I'll need to know exactly the footprint I have to work with, within the logistics layer of the structure, so my actual next task was to finalize that, which means I needed to finalize the exterior as well.

With the blueprints I engineered yesterday, plus a couple additional variations I finished today, I got to work re-doing the road with them.

Co-op day again! My wife made quite a bit of progress on Copperworks. Enough to actually power it up and get it priming.

Final result of all the belting running through the first floor, in the Iron products building. There's 3 input lines of Iron Ingot, and 4 output lines, one each of Iron Plate, Iron Rod, Iron Wire, and Iron Pipe.

So the next thing to derail me from FICSMAS is that I'm out of Modular Frames. I tore down the starter factory I had like a month ago, to replace it with Motorworks, and I was hoping I could just get by on the crate full of backlog I had, until getting to Phase 3. My intention is to build a Frameworks factory that covers both regular and Heavy Modular Frames. And since I don't HAVE the ability to make HMFs yet, I put it off.

Back in co-op today, my wife made more progress on Copperworks.

So, I was just settling in to starting the FICSMAS Factory, after dismantling the old one, and I noticed this, while setting up some temporary storage for all the FICSMAS materials I brought over: I'm inexplicably out of Wire.

Yeah, I just ended up going with the map editor to insert a gap here. This should get the job done, it gave me enough room to send off foundations for that new branch of the tubeway.
